waking up with a smile on your face

Have you ever woken up smiling and with an excitement to jump out of bed and greet your housemate(s) good morning? It feels as though something big is going to happen that day, some what like that feeling on Chrsitmas morning when you were 6. You know when you just couldn't wait for your parents to wake up so that you could run into the lounge and wrip open your presents sitting under the overly decorated tree?

So according to the excitement of my heart...Merry Christmas my friends.
Because this morning i woke up smiling and ran through to the lounge. It may have been the feeling of freedom and not having a particular scheldule for the day, it may have been the rays of sunlight shining through my window, possibly the view of the mountains out my lounge or the dreams that visited me last night, like santa claus delivering presents. Im not sure.
But i was and i am excited.

Today i vow to do something silly i vow to embrace the 6 year old in me and i promise to let you know what was in those wrapped presents.

snaps is the name of the game the name of the game is snaps

these are the places iv been recently, alot of thinking, alot of exciting things and alot of laughing has taken place. Iv made new friends, spent time with old friends and eaten yummy food.

First of all...how beautiful is Bettys Bay. If you havent been there take a drive. 83km from rondies and yet it feels like worlds apart. Take some money and visit kleinmond harbour for what smelt like the best fish and chips ever. Im so excited to make a mission there maybe even pack a picnic and appreciate the natural beauty. Its amazing that such a stunning place has been kept so undeveloped. Made my heart happy. I spent the weekend there with my new cell group and had a weekend filled with the start of new friendships (i hope). I was so appreciative of this groups friendliness and acceptance to my presence, a sincere interest in who i am and where i have come from. I hope i am able to model this attitude and make those around me feel just as important.

Having not read my Bible for some time this weekend offered much time for this and i was reminded of a story about a paralysed man who when taken to Jesus was told to "get up and walk" and thats just what i am going to do. Come walk with me. Its always good to enjoy the journey in the company of others.

Been spending alot of time in the hospital for a research project i am doing. My topic is HIV/AIDS and the complications there of.....South Africa needs a miracle. I feel so inspired to see the work that the doctors in south africa are doing. Still processing the reality of the situation....a CD4 count of 1, sexual abuse, meningitis and yet these patients are living and doing the best they can.

mmm dont have much more to share at this point, my thoughts are scattered and to exciting to order ... so on that note... crack the code...

things i love part 1

So this blog thing becomes kind of addictive and in one day i havent stopped thinking about it. I have realised that maybe the first way i can learn about myself and my journey is to learn what i love.

I have found myself so caught up in the rat race of life that i realised iv forgotten what i love doing when its me time. by forgetting what you love... do we end up forgetting our dreams?

I dream of becoming a doctor BUT its bigger than that the reason thats a dream is because i LOVE caring for people.

I dream of going to india, theres a joke in my family that i am indian and got born into the wrong race....the colours the food the buildings the poverty the need for care and love the people the saris

I love cooking, making up recipes trying old favourites serving people with food that will make their day. The presentation the socialising associated with cooking, the freedom the creativity the flavours the spices. So today i baked. www.taste.com.au/recipes/1623/custard+biscuits I made these today...yumm yumm yumm definetly need a tea party with friends maybe in cape town Bronnie i know you keen. I would take a pic but camera in cape town.

I love music that moves me, words that mean something and make me feel alive. Last week i did a course at church called Journey to Excellence By Alan Glover and he used this song. I realised how much i love the words the ideas and the message.

I believe the sun should never set upon an argument.I believe we place our happiness in other people's hands.I believe that junk food tastes so good because it's bad for you.I believe your parents did the best job they knew how to do.I believe that beauty magazines promote low self esteem.I believe I'm loved when I'm completely by myself alone.I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned.I believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned.I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side.I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye.I believe you can't control or choose your sexuality.I believe that trust is more important than monogamy.I believe your most attractive features are your heart and soul.I believe that family is worth more than money or gold.I believe the struggle for financial freedom is unfair.I believe the only ones who disagree are millionaires.I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned.I believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned.I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side.I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye.I believe forgiveness is the key to your unhappiness.I believe that wedded bliss negates the need to be undressed.I believe that God does not endorse TV evangelists.I believe in love surviving death into eternity.I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned.I believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned.I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side.I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye

I think thats enough for today. I want to do what i love. I want to believe in what i love and i want to dream.

in the beginning

Something new to try and help me think about things as well as share my thoughts.. the title comes from the beloved subject known as histology which allows us to look into the cells and smallest building stones of life on earth. As many know this can be tedious and yet once in a while very exciting as we gain insight and further understanding about life.

So....just as Wheaters (a histo textbook well known to many medical students, mostly for the many pinkish similar lookin and yet apparently very different pictures) attempts to teach us the cellular make up of life i want to explore the microscopic make up of my life. With pictures and all.

stay tuned as i invite you to share in this journey and perhaps learn something about your own walk

much love
